Endometriosis Foundation of Houston (“EFHou”, “we”, “us”) wants you to know that we are committed to the responsible management and protection of your privacy. The following is intended to inform you how we use and protect the important information you provide to us. This information summarizes our policy, procedures, and practices.

  • We collect information to further our mission to raise awareness about endometriosis and related conditions, and to improve the quality of life of individuals affected by this disease in the greater Houston area. We strive to be Houston’s trusted partners in endometriosis awareness, advocacy, education, support, fundraising, and research. We use your information to help us provide you with high quality service, carry out our mission effectively, and keep you updated on the latest news, opportunities, and achievements.

  • Unless you tell us otherwise, when you provide your information, we assume you are agreeing to allow us to use and disclose it as allowed by law and EFHou’s policies, in furtherance of our mission. We comply with all U.S. laws.

  • We use—and require our data management vendors to use—reasonable and appropriate security practices to safeguard your information.

“Personal Information” means information that we can use to identify or contact you. We collect personal information when you:

  • register on our site to receive newsletters, alerts, events, and updates

  • respond personally to our mailings and phone calls

Information Security

Our company’s website is hosted on the Wix.com platform. Wix.com provides us with the online platform that allows us to provide our products and services to you. Your data may be stored through Wix.com’s data storage, databases and the general Wix.com applications. They store your data on secure servers behind a firewall. 

 

All direct payment gateways offered by Wix.com and used by our company (such as Donorbox) adhere to the standards set by Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (“PCI DSS”) as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. PCI-DSS requirements help ensure the secure handling of credit card information by our store and its service providers.

 

Our network is composed of access-controlled measures, security monitoring tools, vulnerability management program, SSL encryption, scheduled network scans, as well as internal and external penetration tests. When it is necessary for our service providers to have access to your information, we expect the same level of data security, integrity, and confidentiality standards as EFHou itself provides. Additionally, we conduct security awareness training for our staff and volunteers.

 

While EFHou uses its best efforts to maintain this level of security across all our systems, we cannot guarantee or warrant that our systems or our service providers are not vulnerable to viruses, hacking or other security threats.

 

Children's Privacy
